Build In! Payments Hackathon: Build What Moves Money
Morph, together with Blockchain4Youth and DvCode Technologies Inc., is launching Build In! Payments, a builder-focused hackathon and build-in-public campaign designed to tackle real payment problems with real Web3 infrastructure. Whether you're a developer, designer, student, or startup founder, this is your moment to ship something that matters.
We're not looking for whitepapers. We want working demos, documented journeys, and bold ideas across some of the most pressing payment use cases in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
Ready to Build?
Why build for Payments?
Payments are broken in a lot of places; high remittance fees eating into OFW earnings, SMEs stuck with slow settlements, payroll systems that don't talk to each other, and agentic AI still waiting for a proper money layer. The tools to fix all of this exist onchain. Now we need builders to actually build with them.
Build In! Payments isn't just a coding competition. It's a launchpad for your project, your community, and your voice as a builder in the Web3 ecosystem.
The Numbers
- $3,500 USDC total prize pool
- 5 challenge tracks to choose from
- 3–4 members each team
- Open to everyone - developers, designers, students, founders, Web2 and Web3 builders alike
Hackathon Timeline
Challenge Tracks
Pick one track and go deep. Each track maps to a real, unsolved problem in the payments space.
Cross-Border Remittance - Build a payment app that cuts friction and fees for OFWs and international transfers. Help money move the way people expect it to.
SME Payments - Create merchant payment systems with fast settlement and transparent fees on stablecoin rails. Give small businesses the tools that big banks take for granted.
Payroll + B2B - Develop payroll or treasury systems with batch payouts and onchain accounting. Make payday reliable, programmable, and borderless.
FX Treasury - Build treasury, conversion, or FX tooling for businesses using digital dollars. Help companies stop losing money to volatility and middlemen.
x402 Agentic Payments - Create AI-native or API-based micropayment systems with low-cost settlement. Build the money layer the agentic internet is waiting for.
What You'll Submit
Every team must deliver the following:
- Project Write-Up - Max 200 words. Cover the problem, your chosen Morph use case, the features and APIs you used, and why it matters for the Philippines or Southeast Asia.
- Public Demo URL - A live demo or interactive prototype. No logins, no paywalls.
- Public Repository - Required if no live demo is available.
- Demo Video (Required) - A max 2-minute video: 30 seconds on the problem and chosen use case relevant to Morph, 1 minute of live product demo, 30 seconds on what's next. Upload publicly to YouTube or X. Dimensions: 1920 × 1080 px, 16:9.
- Build Diary Posts - Minimum 3 public progress posts during the build period using #MorphBuildSprint and #MorphBuildPH. These are required for Community Choice eligibility.
- Architecture Diagram (Optional) - Bonus points for showing your technical architecture, smart contract flow, or payment infrastructure design.
How Projects Are Judged
Judges may also give bonus consideration to working integrations, deployment completeness, open-source quality, and scalability potential.
Prize Structure
The Community Choice prize goes to the team that shows up consistently - quality demos, active build diaries, and real community engagement. Only teams with complete build diary requirements are eligible.
