Quarterly BGB Burn: Q2 2026
The Morph Foundation has completed the scheduled BGB token burn for Q2 2026, covering the period from April 1 to June 30, 2026. This burn continues our commitment to disciplined supply management and fully transparent tokenomics.
In total, 3,010,400 BGB has been permanently removed from circulation.
For a full overview of the BGB tokenomics framework and how the quarterly burn mechanism works, see Evolving BGB: Governance, Gas, and Growth on Morph.
Burn Calculation
As with every quarter, the burn amount is derived from the usage-linked formula introduced in the November 2025 tokenomics update:
- Ecosystem Fee Value: $4,071 (total protocol fees generated on Morph, net of L1 Ethereum costs)
- Average BGB Price: $1.92
- Adjustable Governance Factor: 100% (baseline, no adjustment applied)
- Booster: 1420x
The calculation works as follows:
- Usage-based burn: $4,071 / $1.92 = 2,120 BGB
- After Governance Factor: 2,120 x 1.00 = 2,120 BGB
- After Booster: 2,120 x 1420 = 3,010,400 BGB
The Booster acts as a calibration multiplier during the network's growth phase, while protocol fees are still scaling. It keeps quarterly burns meaningful in size while remaining anchored to objective, verifiable onchain activity.
The Morph Foundation has executed this quarter's burn using the same publicly verifiable methodology applied in previous quarters.
Why This Matters
Every quarterly burn ties BGB supply reduction directly to real network usage. As activity on Morph grows, more BGB is removed from circulation, strengthening the link between ecosystem growth and token scarcity and keeping token holders aligned with the long-term health of the network.
